Hi I'm Douglas J. Hanks

I grew up as a Mormon boy with strong Mormon parents who both served missions. I served as a missionary as a young man.

About Me

My father was very good at teaching me how to work. I didn't get as much schooling as I would have liked. I spent most of my working days in marketing and manufacturing. With our limited income we were not able to spend a lot of time or money on travel or vacations. We have a family of eleven children most of which have graduated from college. All of our sons have served missions and all have married in the Temple. Most of our lives have been spent providing for ourselves, church service and serving others. Myself and family have served in many positions in the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon, but gained a testimony in my early youth. I believed and accepted the Book Of Mormon early. The translation of the B of M convinced me that Joseph Smith is a prophet and was an instrument of the hand of the Lord in re-establishing His church and kingdom here on the earth. Living gospel principles is the way to happiness here on earth as well as eternal happiness. The idea that this earth, and the lives of the people on it, are as a result of happenstance is un-believable.

How I live my faith

I enjoy church attendance as often as possible. I have served in many leadership positions. I am a "home Teacher" I have served in two Elders Quorum pres, Two Bishoprics, High counsilor, high Priest leadership, and as a misasionary.
