Hi I'm Emily

I'm a very creative and energetic wife, mother, and photographer... and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love being a mom! I don't know of any other role that could be more rewarding and fun... not to mention challenging. I am a very creative, expressive (and possible eccentric) mom. I am a photographer by profession. I photograph mostly weddings and portraits. I also have a lot of hobbies to change things up: sew, act, play the piano, sing, paint, hike, exercise, travel, create music, and help my husband run a children's theatre. I don't think I'm very conventional in the way I do things. I think very deeply about everything I do and don't feel compelled very often to do what others are doing... which might be ironic, being a mormon :). I've thought very hard and deeply about my faith and spend a lot of time pondering, studying, meditating and praying about my faith... which is why I have come to a serious love of the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy and I've had a confirmation by the Spirit that it the Church of Jesus Christ is true-- I've received confirmations of peace and comfort that are difficult to describe regarding many different principals and teachings of the Gospel. Not to mention, I've experienced miracles and tender mercies from the Lord. I truly cannot deny or doubt that what I have felt, seen, and experienced is anything other than truth. It's a wonderful feeling and so worth it!

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly, I attend the temple regularly, and I strive to do everything that the prophet(s) suggest that we do to better ourselves. It doesn't come naturally for me... I really have to work at it but my goodness it has made my life so full, rich, joyful, and more wonderful than I could have imagined! There was a time earlier in my life when I was not active in the church, before I had a good understanding of the Gospel. At that time I had preconceived notions about the kind of person I might become if I lived the Gospel; that I might be bored, anxious, intolerant or unable to relate to non-mormons. I couldn't have been more wrong. The more I live it, the better life gets and the more I love others, the more tolerant and understanding, the more forgiving I have become... and the joy just grows and grows...
