Hi I'm Kyle

I'm a writer, musician, artist and older brother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to hear stories. I enjoy movies, novels, video-games, and poems as long as there is a story involved. I enjoy, even more, to create stories. I make characters and settings for them to play out the plot I design for them. Whether it's through picture, story, or just my imagination. I'm the fourth child of six and love every member of my family more than anything in this world.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found peace and comfort in the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is a guide and example to me in all things. I've come to know that my mistakes have been redeemed through the infinite love of His Atonement. In my life He has never let me down, even when I have let him down. I have always felt a great debt of gratitude to my Savior, and will do everything in my power to assist in the building of His kingdom and people. I know He has restored His gospel through the Prophet, Joseph Smith, and continues to lead and reveal through his Prophet today, Thomas S. Monson. Having this knowledge and faith in his power and eternal plan is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Everyday I try to abide by the Doctrine of Christ, specifically, Faith and Enduring to the End. I try to spend time in the scriptures everyday and pray to be filled with His light at all times. I try to fulfill my callings the best I can by assisting others with their family's history, while learning what I can about my own. I will be serving a full time proselyting and service mission in South Africa, Durban for the next two years.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Kyle
It states in the Doctrine and Covenants, revealed to Joseph Smith that "... if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work" (D&C 4:3) This was later added as a commandment for all worthy, able, young men of the Church. While men are expected to serve a two year mission, as a priesthood responsibility, some can choose not to. Women have a choice if they want to serve an 18 month mission, but they are not held under the same obligation as men are. Show more Show less
