Hi I'm Mason

I was born in Nevada. I grew up in Utah. I love to wakeboard, mountain bike and play badminton. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love water sports. I love being out on the lake all day from early in the morning till the sun is just about down. Wake boarding is my favorite. I guess anyone can say that I just love being outside in the sun wether it be summer or winter. Snowboarding is my favorite thing to do in the winter. I grew up near the mountains so I love anything that involves hiking, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, you name it, I probably love it. I have played soccer most of my life, and I am now currently getting involved more and more in the sport of badminton.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a loving family with two older brothers, a younger brother and a younger sister. I was raised in this church and was taught how to pray to my Father in Heaven, how to read and study the scriptures, and to love everybody as Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father do. At the age of eight, I had the the decision to make, whether to be baptized or not. I chose for myself that this is what I wanted, I wanted to follow Jesus Christ and His perfect example. I moved into my teens and my faith began to be tested. It wasn't till then that I finally gained my own testimony of this, the true church of Jesus Christ. I was reading in the last chapter of the Book of Mormon, and as I was reading Moroni's words and his testimony of this book, I felt as if he were speaking to me in person. In his last words, he exhorts us to pray to God to know for ourselves if these things are true. And if we ask with a sincere heart and with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will tell you through the power of The Holy Ghost. I took this challenge, I still remember kneeling down by my desk, to ask my Father in Heaven if this book and if this church were true. Never in my life have I felt The Spirit so strong, and I knew that this was my own manifestation that this is all true. I felt the love from my Heavenly Father like never before. I know that I am a child of God. I know that he knows me. I know that God The Father and His Son Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in the Sacred Grove. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and the sins of this world. I know that there is life after death, where we can live with God again. This is what brings me joy. This is what gives me purpose. This is what I know.

How I live my faith

I participate with our planned youth activities and do anything I can to help. Again I love going on any campout with my peers in my ward. I visit two families with my father once a month, where we see what we can do to meet their needs and usually leave them with a short message. I have learned to love the families that I home teach.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Mason
It is not required that all Mormons serve a mission. Some cannot go because their health may not allow them, others may have their own reasons. As for me, I have a strong desire to serve as do so many other members. I want to go out and share with anyone who is willing and ready to receive this gospel. I know that this is Christ's true church restored on this earth in its fullness, as in old times. And I want to invite everyone to come unto Christ. I want everyone to know that they have a loving Father in Heaven and that they are His children. I want them to know that there is life after death, and that through our Savior Jesus Christ, we may live with our Father in Heaven once more. I want to bring joy into their lives. I want to bring the truth to them because I feel it is my duty, because I know for myself. Show more Show less
