Hi I'm Jay Sievers

I am from a small town in southeast Idaho and I enjoy basketball, music and having fun! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah, but growing up we moved up and down the western states, ranging from Arizona to Montana. In Jr. High we settled in Idaho and that is where I claim to be from. Growing up I enjoyed reading and learning. As I got older I developed a passion for basketball and music. I love my family and friends and specially my dog (Oreo)! Currently, I am a full-time missionary, called to strengthen people's faith in Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I was raised in the Mormon faith, I had a good home with good, hard-working parents. I remember many times growing up where my parents had difficult choices to make, and they always chose to follow the standards of the Mormon faith. I was impressed and inspired to live up to their example. Eventually there came a time in my life where I needed to know for myself if Christ was my Savior and if the scriptures really testified of Him. I began my search by reading and praying and eventually after much pondering and reading, I found my testimony that Jesus is the Son of God and He loved me so much to suffer for me...Since that confirmation I have grown in faith and testimony. I know that Christ lives and he loves me. I have felt the power of listening to prophets tell us what we need to hear. I know that the scriptures have the words of life and they guide us closer to God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to follow Christ's example. Jesus is the Savior of the world and the prime example on how we should be and act as human beings. In the scriptures we learn of ways on how we can follow Him and become better people. Everyday I am humbled by the love God has for me, and I know by living the standards of the Gospel that Jesus Christ taught we can live with our Father in Heaven again.

What is faith?

Jay Sievers
Faith is trusting nothing but that gut feeling you have that it is true. No evidence, no research, just your belief that something is true. In this case, most people would refer to faith as being subject to God. Having a faith in God is not having any evidence nor having done any research on God, yet you still believe he is your Creator.
