Hi I'm Michael E. Baca

I grew up in So.California and as a young 14 year old boy, read and gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in So. California with my older sister. My mother and grandfather were active members of the Mormon Church. My dad was not a member, however, he supported my mom, sister and me in our decision to be active in the church. My dad had no interest in the Mormon faith until later on in his life and joined the church at the age of 65. My mom and dad have been sealed in the temple along with my sister and me. I graduated in accounting from USU and received a MBA from UNLV. I am a senior executive, a husband and father of 2 girls and 2 boys. I married my wife whom I met while attending BYU. We were married in the Seattle Temple in Bellevue Washington. I enjoy spending time with my family and hanging out with my wife. I enjoy golfing, fishing, snowboarding with my kids and going to the beach and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young boy, I developed a testimony of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith and the GodHead. Nothing has ever made me feel the way I do when I follow the teachings and commandments of my Heavenly Father. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a complete road map for me to follow and return to live with my Heavenly Father. My Savior has given me examples of the way I should conduct and treat my wife, children, career and all facets of my life. The church has so many resources available to me and my family that address all aspects of my life. I know my Heavenly Father and Savior love me and care about me and my needs. My Savior came to this earth to gain a body and teach His apostles love and compassion. My Heavenly Father has not forsaken me, He has provided me with a living prophet and apostles, as mouth pieces of the Lord, they provide me the counsel on how I should be conducting my life so I am not left to wonder what to do in an ever changing world. I know Joseph Smith is a profit of God and witnessed our Heavenly Father and Jesus on several occasions, allowed Joseph Smith to translate the golden plates, creating the Book of Mormon. The gospel has been restored in these latter days for our benefit and blessings. I am not perfect and our Heavenly Father was aware of our shortcomings, so He provided us a Savior, His only Son, who suffered, bled and died for the sins of the world so we can become purified through the atonement, which allows us the opportunity to return to live with Him, our Heavenly Father. The Savior's atonement has provide me the opportunity to repent for my sins through His atonement. The lord knows we are not perfect and will make mistakes along the way, that's why He provided us a Savior, who atoned for our sins. I am able to ask for forgiveness, forsaking my actions. I know without a doubt, the church is true and its teachings are what my Heavenly Father wants me to be doing so I can return to live with HIm in eternity. That's why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

My faith is not something I just think about on Sunday. My faith is a lifestyle I live and utilized on a daily basis. I draw upon my faith several times a day through prayer and scripture study. My Faith has taught me the importance of service to my neighbors, friends, family and complete strangers. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and want to live my life in a manner pleasing to Him, I show my love for my Heavenly Father and Jesus by living Their teachings and commandments and in return I am blessed for being obedient to Their commandments. When I deviate from the path provided by my heavenly Father, I am not punished, I am simply not eligible to receive His blessing or promptings, which may or may not negatively impact my life. I have had the fortunate opportunity to serve in a variety of callings in the church. Some of those callings involved teaching Sunday School to 16 & 17 year young men and women. I taught young men ages from 12-18. I was able to share my own life's' trials and experiences that allowed me relate and help counsel them with the struggles they faced on a daily basis. I have held leadership positions in the church that has allowed me to draw upon my leadership skills developed in my professional career. I petition my Heavenly Father for His help and direction to successfully complete the calling in which I was asked to do. Those callings have made me a better person by strengthening and reinforcing my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. My home teaching families assigned to me provide an opportunity to get to know the spiritual and temporal needs of those families. I have the responsibility to bring the spirit into their homes monthly, while teaching gospel principles and building a life long friendship with the parents and children of those homes. By following the teachings and commandments of our Heavenly Father and Savior, gives me the direction in which I should be leading mine and my family members lives.
