Hi I'm Carissa Hedquist

I grew up in Idaho. I love my family and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have spent most of my life in Idaho with my family and I love it. I am the oldest child with two brothers and two sisters. For the past three years, I have been attended Brigham Young University studying Human Development with a minor in Business Management. While attending school, I have learned a lot about myself and what is truly important to me. Because of that I have chosen to serve a full time mission so that I can share the joy that the gospel brings into my life. I have been asked to serve in the Nevada Las Vegas West mission and I could not be more excited!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of God. I have been blessed to have grown up with two parents who have strong testimonies of the the gospel. I always knew that I am a daughter of God and he loves me. Throughout my life I have had many of my own experiences that have confirmed that knowledge. I have prayed to find out for myself if this is the true church and whether or not God knows who I am. I received an answer and I know that this is the true Gospel. I have been able to develop a strong belief for myself that Heavenly Father loves us individually and he has a specific plan for each of us. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet who restored God's church to the Earth. The Book of Mormon was translated through the power of God by Joseph Smith. When we prayerfully read its words, I know that we will draw closer to God and his son Jesus Christ. I am thankful for latter-day prophets and I know that they are chosen by God to be his mouth piece on earth today. I know that if we pray, we will be able to find out for ourselves that Heavenly Father knows who we are and he has given us the tools we need to return to him one day. I know this Gospel is true and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying everyday to be the person that God know that I can be. I try to love and serve others the way that he does. As I strive daily to be the best I can be, I hope that I can be an example of truly living what I believe. When I leave to serve a mission, I hope that I can share the light and love I have found from living the gospel.
