Hi I'm Katie Brown

I'm adopted. I'm an Aggie. I'm a convert. I'm a Returned Missionary. But most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am adopted, have 17 siblings, and love my crazy family. I grew up in and around Gaithersburg, Maryland and then moved to College Station, Texas where I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Education, Whoop! I have been involved in musical theater since I was 6 and love every second of it. I served a mission in Logan, Utah and loved every second of it!

Why I am a Mormon

On May 4, 2013 I made the incredible decision to get baptized as a member of this wonderful church and it was the best decision I ever made. I won't say the road before it and through it has been easy, but it has made me a better person and shaped me into the faithful young woman I am today. I strongly believe that you have to go through pain in order to experience joy. If you are driving in a rainstorm and stop because you can't see well who knows how long the rain will last, but if you slowly keep moving through the storm you will find the end of it. I have been through many rainstorms that seemed to last forever, but I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for my life. If I trust in Him and that plan He will lead me through those hard times back to Him. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and each one of you. He has given me the opportunity to accept this beautiful and true gospel. He has forgiven my sins when I asked of Him. He sent His son to atone for the sins of the children of God before him and after him. He called prophets on this earth to preach His Holy Word in the times of the Bible and he still call them today. Because of the Bible, the Book of Mormon, our prophet Thomas S. Monson, the atoning sacrifice of our savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit I know that our Heavenly Father loves us unconditionally and wants us to return to live with Him for eternity. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The best way I think I live my faith in Jesus Christ is to help others. And I believe the best way to help others is to serve them and teach them. That's partially why I became a middle school teacher. I wanted to affect a child's life and help them become the best that they can be. Now that I am called to serve as a full time missionary I can do the same thing but through my faith. I believe learning never stops and that God fully intends for us to continue learning throughout our entire lives. Being able to help others learn is going to expand my faith and teach me how to be a better Christian, friend, teacher, and human being.
