Hi I'm Courtney Hunsaker

I'm from a small town in Nebraska. I'm the oldest of five kids. I am serving an LDS Mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil starting Aug 26

About Me

I grew up in rural Nebraska. I'm the oldest of five siblings and graduated high school with only 28 others in my class. I have just completed my first year of college at Southern Utah University and loved it. I haven't decided what I want to study so I just completed my General Education Classes. I discovered that I loved ceramics, which was a surprise since I've never been particularly artistic. I am taking 2 years off of school so that I can serve a LDS mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil: I leave August 26.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that we have a Heavenly Father and a brother Jesus Christ who love us and I feel their love completely and unconditionally through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I have been incredibly blessed to have been raised in a faithful Mormon household. Because I was one of the few Mormons in my area, I had many opportunities to explain and stand up for my faith while in high school. Because of this I've learned that the best way to live my faith is through example. It got to the point that if I were to break the rules I wouldn't just be letting myself and my family down, I would have disappointed all of the non-members around me who expected better of me because of my faith. This 'pressure' impressed upon me the importance of truly believing in what I do. I had to do some soul searching and serious studying to decide if being a Mormon was what I wanted to be. This gospel is the best thing in my life and now that I've come to that decision I wouldn't let it go for anything in the world. I try to be the best person I can be: kind, honest, charitable so that when people look at me they don't think badly of the church I love so much.
