Hi I'm Mareth

I am grew up in LA and places around it. Music, animals, and video games are the highlights of my life. I Love being a Mormon.

About Me

I like to do many things, both in door and out. I can easily be outside hiking, long boarding, or visiting antique stores just as I can be inside playing video games or watching movies. The couple thing that you will never find me with out are my chap stick, my music, and my pocket sized Book of Mormon. I grew up in a family filled with different religions. I was confused about which church was the true one so in result, I grew up with no religion. I learned about this church at age 17 and was baptized shortly after. I was attending a great University to become a vet but during my second year of school, I got a strong feeling that the Lord had other plans for me at this time. I am now taking a break and preparing to go on my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with out a religion. My mom's side of the family was Catholic and my dad's side of the family was Christian. I attended both churches but I never liked the experiences. I always felt like I was being told what to do and I did not feel good going to either of the churches so in result I decided to just not have a religion but in my heart I felt like something was missing. At age 17, missionaries began to visit me. I enjoyed the lessons that they taught me but every time they brought up baptism, I would get scared and not want to set a date. I don't remember why I was afraid but I remember praying to my God and asking if this is what he wanted for me. Months passed and I did not receive an answer. I got impatient and was about to tell my missionaries that I did not want to be visited anymore when out of the blue, I got this warm feeling in my heart and my chest. I knew I had to be baptized as soon as possible and ended calling the missionaries to tell them to baptize me the next day. I love this church. I love that during sacrament and classes, we have different members of the church teach instead of one designated person to tell us how to live our life. I love the idea of living prophets because it gives me peace in my heart to know that God still communicate with us and will not leave us alone in these latter days. He will always provide a guide for us and never leave us in the dark. This church is built around the principles of charity, personal progress and families and I can hardly wait to go out and help people find their way to their Heavenly father just like my missionaries helped me. This is why I am Mormon and very proud of it.

How I live my faith

I have always loved children. I use to baby sit when I was younger and helped tutor a few people in high school. Shortly after my baptism, I became really curious in how I could use my experience as a baby sitter and a tutor in my church. I talked to the Primary president, person in charge of the young children's Sunday classes , and asked if I could participate in teaching the young children the gospel. I started off taking care of the babies in nursery. Then I moved up and became a permanent substitute for the children ages 3. It wasn't long after when I got the chance to become an actual teacher in my branch. I taught the ages of 4-5 and I loved it. Out side of my church, I enjoy going out and teaching lessons with my branch missionaries in order to prepare myself to go on my mission.
