Hi I'm Trent Saarelainen

I live in Utah, Im about to serve a mission to Antofagasta, Chile, I have a testimony of Jesus Christ, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

So to start off, I love life and everything about it! I love to go on adventures, play sports, play musical instruments, and try new things! I am a Photographer, a Graphic Designer, and a Musician. I am about to serve a mission to Antofagasta, Chile, and I leave August 26th. I have gained a testimony of Jesus Christ and of his Gospel and I know with every fiber of my being that I am doing the right thing by serving a mission. After my mission, I have plans to go to BYU or USU (I can't decide yet!) and I want to study either graphic communications, or engineering. I graduated from Desert Hills High School in St.George Utah, and I have grown up in St. George for most of my life. I am excited for my life and what it holds!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and at a young age I was taught the principles of the gospel. During my years going to Junior High and Middle School, my parents got divorced, and that really shook me to my core. During those critical years of me trying to find myself and become more confident, it hurt me to know that my fathers actions had caused him to chose a different life then with his own children and family, and it hurt because it felt like I wasn't worth anything to him. And if I wasn't worth anything to my father, then what was I worth to anybody else.. My mom and Heavenly Father are the reasons why I am a Mormon today. My Mother is my hero and my everything. She held our now shattered family together, and when she was at her breaking point, Heavenly Father never failed to step in to help us. He gave me and my family many tender mercies and miracles during those impossible years. After a while, I was able to bounce back from all that had happened and with thanks to church programs and activities like EFY, Scouts, and Youngmens, I was able to gain a testimony, but not only that, I was able to gain confidence. I love the Savior, Heavenly Father, and the Spirit. They have gave me direction in my life and they have taken care of me. That is why i am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

There are many ways I try to live my faith to the best of my ability. I have held multiple callings over the past few years such as, Seminary Council member, Priest Quorum 1st Assistant, and teacher and Deacons Quorum presidents to name a few. So thats great and all, but I personally feel like the best way to serve Heavenly Father and live His gospel, is by integrity. Integrity is making the right choice always. No matter what the consequence is. Now I haven't always been a perfect example of this, but I feel very strongly that life is like a balancing scale, in that, if you make a single wrong choice it starts to tip the scale, and you personally start to move in the wrong direction. The same goes for the opposite. If you make a good choice, such as performing a small act of service, you will tip the scale towards righteousness and it gets easier and easier to make the right choice. Integrity is one of the main ways I try to live my faith, and I feel like it is very important to Heavenly Father.
