Hi I'm Hayden Mortensen

I am a young scholar-athlete from Southern California who will soon be serving a mission in Orlando, Florida. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a high school graduate, and I enjoy swimming and playing football. I hope to swim competitively in college after I return from my mission. I enjoy public speaking and being involved with a variety of people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (A.K.A. life-long Mormon). Growing up a Mormon has blessed my life and my family's life tremendously. The standards that I have grown to uphold have protected me physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. I have seen the struggles that others have to face who have not been given the opportunity of love and knowledge that comes from the Church. I have a testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of God. I firmly believe that Heavenly Father loves each of us individually, so much so that he sent His only begotten Son and our redeemer, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins that we may one day return to Heavenly Father if we live righteously and follow His commandments. I know that Devine inspiration is real and that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that trough the power of God he truely recieved the visions that he did and that he fully and correctly translated the Book of Mormon and that through him, priesthood authority was brought back to the Earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that it is the word of God along with the Bible. I know that our general officers today are the current prophets of the Lord and that we can be guided every day to return to our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I have helped my community and my church in a variety of ways. I was very involved in the student body leadership at my high school in which I have gained much experience in planning and preparing large-scale activities. I was also involved in the Boy Scouts if Anerica where I learned several life skills including service to others. Finally, I have held several positions of leadership in my Church in which I have been blessed with the opportunity to teach groups as few as two to three to entire congregations. I have had great experiences serving others and getting to meet new people and make good friends and to be an influence for good among them. Being involved in these many activities has helped keep me on the path that I wish to follow to be a worthy deciple of Christ.
