Hi I'm Elaina Pearl Nelson

I grew up in Wyoming, I love my family and friends. If I didn't have them in my live, I would be who I am today. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love listening to music, especially country or classical. I do play the piano, but it takes me a while to learn a piece. I was in High School Color Guard, which was a very memorable and fun activity. I also love watching movies, I go with all my friends and get a huge bag of popcorn and we eat it all.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, taught the lessons and commandments of the gospel. They have been engraved into my mind, it wasn't until I was older that I decided to really look at what was commanded and why. I looked at the most basic one that I was taught. Praying; why would one pray? Well, to communicate with our Heavenly Father. So I tried it, wanting to know if he could really hear us, and if he loved me or not. For an answer, all I got was a feeling. A feeling that I feel every time I go to church or read my scriptures. It was a feeling of comfort, letting me know he was really there. I had always heard of people feeling the Spirit of God, but I had never really noticed it before. So I continued to pray. I began to be happier, and kinder. By simply praying, with a real intent, and trying to learn something, I was able to plant a seed of faith that grew and grew until it became a tree. By praying first, and establishing that testimony, I was able to pray and ask if other commandments are true. Like going to church, or listening to my mother and father, or even why I can't have caffeine. As I learned of all the commandments, I began to understand that they are just there to keep us safe, and to save us, or to keep us in the best shape we can be in. They were all for our benefit. Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to return to him. The only way to truly know what He wants us to do, is to pray and seek out what is right. I came to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true because of the gift of prayer. I'm a Mormon because I prayed to know if that is what I was supposed to do, and the answer was yes.

How I live my faith

I mainly live my faith by being an example, I try to teach my friends and siblings by doing what I'm supposed to. I smile, I'm friendly, I try my hardest not to judge. I have been asked to teach the youth a few times.
