Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a husband, father, California native, Tennessee Volunteer, sports junkie, and music enthusiast

About Me

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, but have lived in various parts of the United States. I am happily married and have two beautiful young daughters. I'm a supply chain and logistics professional with a strong interest in sports and music. After being a vandal at the University of Idaho, I thought it would make sense to be a volunteer at the University of Tennessee. As a result, I'm a loyal follower of the University of Tennessee football team. I enjoy traveling because I like to see and appreciate the diversity that can be found around the world. One of my goals is to visit all 50 states in the USA. I love listening to music and attending concerts. My favorite musician is Ben Harper because his lyrics are uplifting, his voice is unique, his style and influences are diverse, and he pours his soul into his art.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was born into a family with parents who are Mormons. I'm still a Mormon because I gained a testimony by learning about the gospel and then living the gospel. As I lived the principles of the gospel, I have had spiritual experiences that help confirm that the gospel is true. I have learned through my experiences in life (including the good times and the tough times) that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me and loves and He wants me to be happy. This religion helps give me perspective about where I came from, why I am on the earth, and what will happen to me when my time on the earth is done. I am comforted knowing that I can live with my family forever and that I can be accompanied by my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by trying to be more like Jesus Christ. I treat other people with kindness, charity, and understanding. I try to learn the will of my Heavenly Father, then do the will of my Heavenly Father. I enjoy speaking in front of local congregations on a monthly basis. I help make sure our local churches are maintained to a level that our Heavenly Father would be pleased with. I do my best to pray and read my scriptures every day. I teach my children correct principles so they will be positive contributing members to society.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Spencer
The neat thing about the Mormon church is everything the members do to help people who are not members of our faith. We believe that everyone on the earth is a son or daughter of God and we are taught that we should love our brothers and sisters. As a result of this knowledge, we know that we have a responsibility to take care of others. Show more Show less
