Hi I'm Ty Codell Hawton

I am from Minnesota, I love board games, weightlifting, and my first job was at subway and I am a Mormon and a Missionary.

About Me

I love weightlifting and cooking. These two things are probably my biggest passions. they mold well together because the weightlifting keeps me active and the cooking gives me the nutrition my body needs. For cooking I love baking homemade breads or making things from scratch. I makes me happy to cook slowly and take my time to make something delicious. It also makes me happy to see others eat my food. it is more fulfilling than most people would think. For weightlifting/exercise I basically like to pump iron. there is really no substitute for what I call the "lifting high". I actually have more energy while lifting than probably any other time during the day. I do it 5 times a week and I just love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and always knew there was something special about it. as I grew older I realized how much the lords standards differ from the worlds standards. I saw many of my friends start to get involved in dumb things like drugs and sex and saw how they weren't getting any joy or happiness from their lives. I decided that I didn't want to lead a life like that so I have stayed with the gospel. It makes me happy to be a member of the church and when I go to church on Sundays I always feel up lifted. I realize that the church may seem to have a lot of rules but if you fallow them you can receive true happiness and who doesn't want that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading scriptures and praying daily. I also have had the great opportunity to serve in a Hmong speaking branch. It has been a great learning experience seeing how culture plays such a huge importance in our lives. It has also been interesting trying some of the traditional foods and participating in some of the traditional events of Hmong culture. I love working with people and bringing them closer together. Through this experience I know that God loves all his children and wants the best for them.
