Hi I'm Alison

I am a missionary. I enjoy music and performing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a freshman in college. I love participating in plays and musicals. I did theatre all throughout high school and hope to do more in the future. I love movies and TV. Some of my favorite shows are Merlin, Doctor Who, and Sherlock. I also love to read. I am the youngest of six kids and have six nieces and nephews.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed enough to be born into this church. I was raised by parents who taught me to live the gospel. When I was younger, I relied on the testimony of others, but as I've grown, doubts have arisen and I've had to learn for myself. I don't claim to have a perfect knowledge or perfect faith, but everything I have learned has built my testimony. I have come to love this gospel and I know that living the gospel is what will bring me the most happiness in this life.

How I live my faith

I have had some great opportunities for service over the years. Just last spring, I had the chance to go down to an orphanage in Mexico with a theatre group. While there, we helped build, we performed, and most importantly, we spent time with the children. It was an amazing experience, and I hope to be able to do it again. I was also able to provide service a bit closer to home. I lived on the East Coast when Hurricane Sandy hit. Thankfully, the area where I lived was not badly damaged. One area that was severely damaged was a small strip of land called the Rockaways. I, along with other people from my stake, was able to go out and help clean up the damage. The people we helped were so grateful. On a more regular basis, I pray, read my scriptures, and go to church. I have little experiences every day that strengthen my testimony. I try to love my fellow men and become more like my Heavenly Father.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Alison
To me, everything testifies that there is a God. Nature, the human body, the human brain. They are all miracles to me. I look around and I see that all these things cannot be an accident. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Alison
I think the simplest answer to this question is that it is true. This church is true. Missionaries go out to all corners of the world and teach. Those they teach can feel the Spirit and know that what they are being taught is the truth. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Alison
We share the gospel because we genuinely care about other people. The gospel brings joy to our lives, and we want others to be able to feel the same joy. Show more Show less
