Hi I'm David

I like to play music, I like to help other people, I think Mexican food tastes incredible, I'm a Mormon

About Me

Everyday I try to learn new things. I try to learn whats right and wrong, how to become a better person and most importantly what makes us happy. Everyday I see people and how they live their lives, what their passions are and what they strive to become. Every time I learn something new I want to shear it with those around me, weather its from the scriptures, school or ever other people. One of the most important lessons that I have learned in life is that true happiness comes from living by the principals and teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. When we help other people, everyone can feel his love, weather they know it or not. When we make mistakes, we learn from them and by doing so we become more like our heavenly father. While we may not always be able to feel certain about were we are or what we're doing, it is from those experiences that life becomes more meaningful. I have learned that rather complaining or blaming your conditioning, accepting adversity will make you a better, happier person. The best way to do this, is through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Everyday your faith is tested. Some people give up and others keep moving forward. At a young age I desired to know if this was true for myself. I challenged my beliefs and put them to the test. If I would have only relied on the testimony of my parents of church leaders then I wouldn't have been able to withstand the trials I have gone through. I know if I feel lost, all I have to do is wait and continue because the lord stated,'"Thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high..." (D&C 121 7-8)

How I live my faith

Everyday I have choices that will can lead me towards eternal life or sorrow. Do I choose to not pay for something if I can get away with it? Do i choose to blame something and hold a grudge, or to be proactive? Do I tell the hard truth, or an easy lie? When I make positive choices, I feel open and liberated from worldly things. When I don't make a right choice, I feel like I am in a box were there is no progression. I then choose how long I want to stay there. I live my faith by reconciling with the lord every day through scripture study, prayer, exercising faithfulness, service and anything along those lines. I love going to church and seeing friendly faces that love and accept me. I know that they want me to be there. It's good to go to church and hear something that I have heard a thousand times before and still being able to learn a valuable lesson from it that I have never considered that can be applied into my current circumstances. I rely on this foundation to bring me the joy and happiness that can only be found from the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

One of the many purposes of life is to learn to make correct decisions and learn from them. This is done through personal experience. We need to strive to learn something new and strive to make correct decisions every day. "The glory of god is intelligence", weather it's secular or spiritual, because they both lead to the fountain of everlasting life. Show more Show less
