Hi I'm Jacilynn Shannon

I'm 19-the oldest of 4. I love music, reading, and family time. I am an artist and want to be a teacher in Preschool/Special Ed.

About Me

I am currently in college-working towards getting my teaching degree in either early childhood or Special Ed. I am an artist and started by coloring on the walls of my parent's home when I was a toddler. Music is a huge part of my life. I thrive when I find songs that touch my heart or offer an inspiring message. I can play the piano a little bit and love photography. I've had my deal of trials just like anyone else and I'm still going strong!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life. There was a time where I really struggled with my faith. I was sad, depressed, angry-every emotion you could possibly imagine. What really redefined to me that this was exactly where I needed to be was when I chose to let God in. Once I started praying again and listening to His word-I found a peace and strength I never could have found otherwise. I love the morals and teachings given to us as members. I know I can be happy as long as I follow those teachings and apply them to my life. This church is just amazing! I would not have been able to get through High School without my faith. It gave me the strength and support system I needed. I know without a doubt that The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. That the Savior lived and died for each and every one of us. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet and translated the Book of Mormon. I know the scriptures are the word of God-that they can guide and direct us in ways we couldn't fathom. I know prophets walk the earth today-that Heavenly Father speaks through them. I know this is the one and only church I will ever have the honor of belonging to. Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us and I know one day we may all return to Him someday. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

Sharing the gospel has been a huge part of my life recently. I find that I share information about the church with my coworkers fairly often and enjoy the conversations we have. I have fellowshipped with the missionaries several times and love doing it! I'm just trying to involve myself in activities where I can feel the Spirit-doing things that make me happy and bring me peace.
