Hi I'm Shaye

I'm from Sacramento, California. I'm a world traveler, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Traveling is my favorite activity because I love to see God's beautiful creations. I also love to see God's church across the world. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the same in Peru as it is in Estonia or California. It brings joy and peace through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Christ's Atonement extends to all cultures and people, in all languages. It is a testimony to me that God's love knows no limits. I have been called to serve as a full-time missionary of the church. I am delighted to be able to travel to Phoenix, Arizona to teach the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people there. I am especially excited to serve in the Latino community and speak Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

For a long time I was a Mormon because it was the easiest thing. There was no reason to go against what my family lives and believes. It seemed good. It was not until I started having doubts and challenges that I decided for myself that I wanted to be a member of God's church. I struggled with many questions concerning life and its purpose, but I ultimately found peace in reading the Book of Mormon. Through living its principles I have found the gospel is much more than good. It is amazing. It is what keeps me going everyday and it brings me unspeakable joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by seeking out my ancestors. I know that because Jesus Christ died for us, life extends beyond death and families can be together forever. God loves all His children and those who have passed on are just as important as those on the earth now. We wouldn't be who we are without our ancestors. We have a responsibility to find them, learn their stories, and make sure they are never forgotten. That is what I do, and I love it.
