Hi I'm Kira

I was born and raised in Utah. I am serving in the Georgia Atlanta North Mission from Sept. '15 - Feb. '17. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Kira and I am 20 years old. I have just completed the first year of my year-and-a-half full-time Church mission. There is nothing more rewarding than being an Ambassador for the Lord. I have come to love the people of Georgia more than I ever dreamed possible. I feel so blessed to be God's hands and feet upon the Earth in such a beautiful part of the vineyard. Georgia has and forever will have a special place in my heart. I am the middle child of three. I have an older brother who served his mission in Colombia, and a younger brother who will serve a mission shortly after I return from mine. I love being the only girl. My mom and I have such a special relationship -- she is my best friend. My dad is the greatest father, and I am so blessed. Family is everything, and I've learned so much more about the importance of the family since I've been a missionary. I love to play volleyball, I love water sports, and I love snowboarding. I am so blessed to live in Utah, where we have the "greatest snow on earth". God has given us such a beautiful world to enjoy, and I want to take full advantage of that!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I know that this gospel brings me more happiness than I could even comprehend, and I live it because I want to continue to feel that happiness in my life. I have seen the difference the gospel can make in your life. When I moved out for the first time to go to college, I struggled with going to church and having a testimony of the things I was taught growing up. As I have done my best to stay faithful in going to church every Sunday and in doing only those things that bring me closer to Jesus Christ and to my Heavenly Father, I find more joy than I can explain. I am a Mormon because it gives me relief. I know that my family can be together for eternity. I have a strong testimony in the Plan of Salvation. I am a Mormon because I know that I am never too far gone to feel my Heavenly Father's love. I have a firm love and testimony of the Atonement. I know that when I make mistakes (every day), I can be forgiven of my sins, and that make me incredibly happy. I am a Mormon, and I know it, I live it, and I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by lighting my candle and placing it on a candlestick, and not under a bushel. I have so much gratitude in my heart for the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the blessings that I have received because of the knowledge that Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I live my faith by sharing what I believe with others. I love being a missionary, and I know that I can be a missionary for the rest of my life, even if I don't always get to wear my black name tag. I live my faith by trying my best to make sure that my every action, word, and thought is centered on Christ-like love and service. I try to emulate the Savior's example. I definitely try, but sometimes I fall short. I may not be perfect, but I am perfect in trying.
