Hi I'm Ashley

I am from California. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love music and playing my saxophone. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four children in my family. I am a student at Brigham Young University. I play the tenor saxophone and participated in my high school's marching band.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grow up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and over all of that time through study and prayer I have slowly come to know for myself that this gospel is true. I have come to recognize who my Savior is and see His hand in every aspect of my life. I know my family is a lot closer and stronger than we would be without the truths of the gospel. I love knowing that I can be with my family forever. I owe the positive view that I have of myself to the simple truths of the gospel that I learned growing up. I struggled with my self esteem, but being taught and coming to understand that I have a loving Heavenly Father and a Divine Nature helped me overcome that. The only view of ourselves that matters is the way our Heavenly Father sees us, and although we may be imperfect, He loves us infinitely. There is nothing that brings me more comfort in this life than knowing that no matter what I'm struggling with, how many times I mess up, how lost I feel, I can always turn to my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ for comfort and guidance.

How I live my faith

I have been very active in my community growing up, being a part of many service projects with my youth group. I am currently a ward missionary which means that I go out and visit people in my area and assist the missionaries in spreading the message of the gospel and how much it can bless someone's life.

What are Mormon temples used for?

The temple is an amazing place because it is the house of the Lord and His spirit truly dwells there. The temple is a place of learning and where saving ordinances are performed. Because of temples we can be sealed to our families for all eternity and I couldn't be more grateful for the comfort that comes with that knowledge. We not only receive eternal blessing for ourselves, but help others receive them as well by performing ordinances for those who have passed on and can no longer do the work for themselves.
