Hi I'm Ron Brinton

I was born and raised in Southern Alberta, Canada and have been married to the same beautiful girl for almost 47 years.

About Me

I am the father of 8 children and currently have 18 grandchildren. My career was in the printing industry where I worked for over 50 years. The technological changes to printing since I began have been incredible and the industry is now highly computerized. As a youth I enjoyed many varied activities including hunting, fishing, photography, rifle shooting, badminton, curling, golf, fish and game training, survival, first aid and rescue training, coin and stamp collecting, dancing and travel. In my travels I have been to much of Canada, the United States, and Guatemala, and have been to Chile and Peru in South America where I learned a bit of the Spanish language. Life has been and still is a joy.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young man in my early twenties I came to realize the value of religion in society. The influence of good versus evil was, in my thinking a stabilizing force each community needed. Without it there would not be security nor peace. When I was first introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to the vision of Joseph Smith it seemed familiar to me. I thought, "why wouldn't God speak to people nowadays just as he did in ancient times"? I began to investigate the teachings of the Lord's Church and, finding them pleasant to me, soon was baptized. Many years have passed since that eternally important day and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is still as sweet as ever. There have, of course, been many challenges along the way, however with the Lord Jesus Christ as ones companion, how can there be any prolonged trial. I love the Lord and His Church and my eternal family and friends.

How I live my faith

I was baptized in Toronto Ontario Canada at Ossington Ward on 26 November, 1967 and have thoroughly enjoyed being part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints every day since then. Starting out with just the basics of the Lord's Gospel I was still able to serve others in various callings as I continued to learn and grow in faith and knowledge. Over the years I became the husband of the most beautiful girl in the world and father to the best eight children a person could ever hope for. A church is nothing more than a group of like-minded people striving to be the best they can be while faithfully following the doctrines and covenants they have received from diety. The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God our Eternal Father is to me that diety I choose to follow. Great joy in all aspects of my life is the result. I love the Lord, and I love His people.
