Hi I'm Lilly

I live in Northern Minnesota. I have 5 younger siblings. I just graduated with Registered Nurse (RN) degree. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Northern Minnesota for the past 11 years. I graduated this spring with my Registered Nurse (RN) degree and am currently working with my nursing license at our local nursing home. I love the outdoors and enjoy many different sports. I love playing basketball, skiing, hunting, fishing, hiking, archery, backpacking, canoeing, piano, painting, horseback riding, longboarding, baking, and camping, among other things. I also own two Samoyed/malamute mutts that I've trained and have taken dogsledding in a trail system east of our house for the past 8 years (we live 7 miles out of town in the country). I love mountains (which we are severely lacking here in flat Northern MN), but we have extended family out West and visit the Idaho/Utah area at least once every year for our family vacation.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church but I still have my own personal conversion story. We each must go through our own process in developing our belief and faith in our Savior and His plan for us. There was a time in my life that I was struggling deeply with things and I knew I needed to know for certain if the church was true. I needed a direct answer from the Lord. I went through a long period of prayer and seeking for confirmation. I needed to know for myself if what I had learned my whole life was true. After lots of effort on my part I did receive an answer. I felt with every fiber of my being that this is the true church of Jesus Christ, restored with the same order and simplicity that Jesus Christ established while He was on the earth. I can say now that I know that it is true, and I know that God and His son Jesus Christ are real, and that they know each of us very personally. God does still communicate with His children on earth as He did in the Bible, but we must have faith, ask, and then listen. I love my Savior Jesus Christ very deeply and am humbled to think of the sacrifice He went through so that each one of us can repent of our sins and be redeemed through His Atonement. There is no greater, lasting joy that can come to us than the joy that comes through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Of this I am certain.

How I live my faith

I just received my mission call to Honduras and will spend the next 18 months as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I will be helping others come to know their Savior, Jesus Christ and I will be sharing our gospel message. I will also be serving as a mission nurse specialist for that area. I currently serve in my branch as the pianist/organist for our weekly meetings. I also serve as a leader of the youth, or the young women. I fulfill this calling by helping plan and organize our weekly Wednesday night mutual activities and by teaching Young Women's lessons on Sundays after Sunday School.
