Hi I'm Tanner Dillon

I'm a Mormon and I grew up in Boise, Idaho. I love all things outdoors. I love anything that gets my adrenaline going.

About Me

A little about me, I'll try anything at least once. I'm anything but picky. I'll eat anything put in front of me and do anything that someone tells me to do. (Activity-wise of course) I love everything about the outdoors, including all sports, extreme sports, hunting and fishing, archery, rock climbing/repelling, free climbing, free running, skydiving, bungee-jumping, NPPL and PSP Paintball, and pretty much anything that gets my heart pumped up and my adrenaline going. Most people call me crazy, but that's living life to the fullest my friends. I love my family and I do everything I can to love and support them. When it comes down to it, nothing else matters besides my family. That's my belief and stand firm to it. All the things that I love doing are important to me, but family is what I love the most.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a "Mormon" because of my strong and unshaken testimony of Heavenly Father's true and everlasting gospel. I have a testimony and a firm witness that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the restored Gospel. I know, deep in my heart and in my soul, that this church, is the true church of God. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, I know that he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God, I KNOW that this church and in its entirety, is true. The Spirit of the Lord has testified to me that this is the true church. I will never deny its truthfulness; I cannot and I will not falter to the adversary. This is the true church of God. It's not just a believe or just a religion, it's a knowledge and a way of life. I will follow this church and its leaders even if it claims my life. Like I said, I "cannot" deny its truthfulness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by giving my all. The only way to make a mark on this world and to live life to the fullest is by giving your all. In order to give your all, you have to be your all. Living faithfully to my Father in Heaven is how I prove my all. I give myself to him and he loves and protects me just like any other true father in this world does. I attend Church every Sunday I am able, and I try my best to be like my Father in Heaven. I live faithfully so my home and my family can have the feeling of the Spirit and so that my home can be a Temple of God. I want my home to be a resting place for others and place to get away from the horrors and misconceptions of the world. In order for that to happen, I have to do my part and live faithfully. So that's what I try my hardest to do.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Tanner Dillon
There are some people that believe that "the Mormons" have replaced the Bible and only believe in this "Mormon Bible." This is absolutely false. Elder Holland, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, says it best: "Continuing revelation does not demean or discredit existing revelation. The Old Testament does not lose its value in our eyes when we are introduced to the New Testament, and the New Testament is only enhanced when we read the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. In considering the additional scripture accepted by Latter-day Saints, we might ask: Were those early Christians who for decades had access only to the primitive Gospel of Mark (generally considered the first of the New Testament Gospels to be written)—were they offended to receive the more detailed accounts set forth later by Matthew and Luke, to say nothing of the unprecedented passages and revelatory emphasis offered later yet by John? Surely they must have rejoiced that ever more convincing evidence of the divinity of Christ kept coming. And so do we rejoice." - Jeffrey R. Holland I personally believe in the Bible just as firmly as I believe in the Book of Mormon. All of these books mentioned, the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price, all testify and confirm that Christ lives and He is our Savior and Redeemer. All are revelation given from God, our Eternal Father. Simply, each compliment each other. Show more Show less
