Hi I'm James Barker

I grew up in Southern California. I play baseball for the BYU Cougars. I'm serving in the Japan, Fukuoka Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is James Barker and I grew up in Moorpark, a city in just north of Los Angeles, CA. I'm half Japanese. I'm twenty years old and have spent most of my life playing piano and baseball. I picked up guitar a few years ago and love basketball and football too. I play baseball for Brigham Young University and am currently serving a mission in the Japan, Fukuoka Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've never had a reason to regret being baptized into this church when I was 8. The gospel has blessed my life more than anything and is what keeps me happy. I'm currently in Japan serving a mission and trying to share the same happiness that I've gained from the gospel. Missionaries in Japan baptized my mother over thirty years ago and I owe a lot of what I have in life to them. Like I wrote, there are no regrets that come with the decision to be baptized and staying faithful to that commitment.

How I live my faith

I'm serving as a missionary in the Japan, Fukuoka Mission. There is no better way to spend these two years of my life than being a called representative of the Lord, Jesus Christ, and sharing His restored gospel to God's children here in Japan. It is an honor and a blessing to do what I get to do everyday.
