Hi I'm Sister Godoy

I was born in Venezuela. I Love Science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing and dance, I have been performing since I was 4 years-old. I love to spend time with my family and friends. I love science, doing lab work and research. I love this Gospel and all the blessing it often brings to my life. I am now serving as a full time missionary in the California Riverside Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church, my mom is a convert and my dad has been attending since a really young age and with an magnificent faith and diligence. There were (and still are) so many things to learn and think about when telling other person the reason why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe it comes from personal experience; yes, I have learned from other people's experiences, but that does not mean that I had to have my own to know that the doctrines and principles that are taught are true. I have a big testimony about the atonement and patriarchal blessings. The sacrifice that Jesus Christ did for us is the biggest gift we could ever think of. Some of us think of "gifts" as materialistic objects, but not all gifts are tangible. The Savior gave his life just so we could be saved, he did it with a selfless attitude and giving all of the glory to His father. We might not be capable of understanding such a big sacrifice and pain but what we can always try to do is be thankful for having a way to return to our loving Heavenly Father. My patriarchal blessing has given me the opportunity to know who I am, who I can become, and how much my Heavenly Father truly loves me. It has been my guide and my way of coming back to my Savior. It has helped me overcome temptation thanks to the promises that were made. I can feel my Savior's love each day, the habit of prayer has really changed my life. I know it is not easy to fully understand all of the things that surround us and that is when faith comes to be a part of us, the act of believing helps us understand those doctrine and principles that can be so complex at times. I love this Gospel, it has given me everything I have; it has helped me serve others and become a better person; it has helped me set goals that will help me become who God wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I have helped with the young women of the church several times, not as a leader, but as a someone to rely on. I was a ward missionary, I would go out with the sisters missionaries and teach people that were interested in learning more about the Gospel. I got to knock on some doors too! I really enjoyed it. I have also helped conducting/leading the music in the Sacrament and other meetings.
