Hi I'm Rene the Fishwhisperer

I am a Mormon nature lover! Love taking wildlife and landscape photos, fishing, quilting, crocheting and reading!

About Me

I love fishing, quilting, crafting, reading and I love being a Mormon. I live in a very remote area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so I don't get a lot of fellowship with other LDS members, which is hard sometimes. Mostly I have all 4 legged neighbors who never cause me any trouble! I was bi-vocational for the 12 years that I was in the work force. I was a store manager and a pastor in the Free Methodist Church. I was the single mother of 4 children, as my husband passed away when I was only 22 years. old.

Why I am a Mormon

As a pastor in the Free Methodist Church, I was and still am well versed in the Bible. I did have many questions that arose from my study that were never explained to my satisfaction. I had a girlfriend who introduced me to her mother and we starting talking religion. She told me that she was a Mormon, so I just asked her afew questions and right away she called the missionaries to come and answer my inquiries. Those poor guys really received a grilling from me for quite some time, but they answered each question graciously and intelligently. All those questions that I had previously had were now answered in this Book of Mormon that had been given to me. I was baptized in Lake Superior on 27 August of 2005. I have never known more devout, kind, intelligent and giving people than all my Mormon friends.

How I live my faith

I am a 61 year old disabled woman, who doesn't get much chance to be as active as I used to be. I am considered a "prayer warrior", I am a great cook, so the missionaries love to come to my home for dinner. They are the highlight of my life! I give each missionary a choice of what they would like me to make for them. A fleece blanket, a hand made quilt or a crocheted afghan. I also have a wonderful mail ministry. I love writing letters to other members as a verification that they are loved and thought of. I also love to write my testimony on the inside cover of a Book of Mormon and give it to people.
