Hi I'm Sam

I grew up in Utah. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Utah my whole life, and I am the youngest of four boys. While I've played the piano since the age of 7, I love to play any instrument I can get my hands on, and music has always been a great emotional outlet for me. I like playing sports/games with my friends and family. My favorite sport is basketball, and I love watching the NBA. I love all of the outdoor activities my quorums have participated in throughout the years, and I especially enjoy really green areas of nature. I like to play video games, my favorite video game series is The Legend of Zelda. I love quoting movies with my friends and family!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon home, so I always knew about the church. I went to church every week, and I participated in all of the church activities. I tried to read my scriptures every day, and I said my prayers every night. I always did what my parents told me to do, even if I wasn't sure why I was doing it. So I continued going to church and learning about the gospel, and at the age of 16, I finally had a testimony of my own. I began to realize more and more that this church really IS the true church. After that, I began to be really excited about the gospel. I looked forward to going to church every week, and I looked forward to reading my scriptures at night. I especially looked forward to the times I got to talk to God through prayer. And as I continue to do these things, I find more peace, hope, and comfort than anything else in this world can offer. This truly is a gospel of hope. While I tend to have a negative view of a lot of things, the Mormon church has filled me with a hope and love that I elsewhere could not find. I live in a home with a mom and a dad, and I have three older brothers. Everyone in my family loves each other, and we're all pretty happy, and I know that's because we all strive to live the teachings found in the Mormon church. The church has such a large emphasis on family, and I continue to realize how important the family really is. I love the church, and because of it I get to live with my past, current, and future family forever.

How I live my faith

One way I have participated in my ward is by playing the piano at church meetings or youth activities. I was one of the only young men who knew how to play, so I usually ended up with that privilege. I also love serving those around me in any way I can. There is an incredible amount of service we can provide for others. Sometimes we just have to look. I've also been a kind of leader in our youth group. A lot of the younger kids look up to me, so I try to set a good example for them. Some of the best lessons we teach are not with our words!
