Hi I'm Colby Edwards

I'm Utah born and raised. I'm an avid musician and athlete. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the Salt Lake area. My family are not members of the Church and I was not raised LDS. I was baptized when I was eight but stopped going to church soon after. I attended a year and a half of college and became active in the church again while there. I am an avid musician and am going to school to get a degree in Music Education. I play many instruments. I am also very active and enjoy most sports, although my favorites are soccer, lacrosse, and hockey. I try to be very upbeat and always look on the bright side of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the spirit has always spoken very strongly to me. When I went to church for the first time in years while in college, I knew that the church was where I was supposed to be and I felt happier than I had in a very long time. The spirit told me that I needed to go to church. Through many hours of prayer, I gained a testimony that this is the true church of Jesus Christ on this earth and that Joseph Smith is a true prophet. The happiness I receive from living the Gospel is something I would never give up. I know that, even in hard times, in times that I feel helpless, I can always turn to Heavenly Father for guidance and comfort and that I'm never alone. I am forever grateful for the atonement and that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father. The many blessings I receive from living the Gospel are amazing. It truly is amazing the blessings we receive on a daily basis that we just don't recognize. God is truly always watching over and providing for us and if we turn to him and follow in our Savior's footsteps, we can not only receive great blessings here on this earth, but in the next life to come, and we can return to live in His presence once more.

How I live my faith

Since I have started going to church again, I have always tried to participate in church activities and help where I can. I was an organizer for church activities in college and have always tried to share my faith with those around me.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Colby Edwards
We believe that, through baptism, all of our sins and previous transgressions can be washed away and that we can start anew in following in our Savior's footsteps and become closer to our Heavenly Father and returning to live with him. We do have to keep our part in his plan however, by keeping our covenants with Him. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Colby Edwards
Yes, we believe firmly that the Holy Bible is the word of God. We believe that along with the Bible, the Book of Mormon is another testament to Jesus Christ and that it serves to support and exalt the Holy Bible. Show more Show less
