Hi I'm Rebecca

I am a homemaker. I build, sew, refinish furniture, bake, decorate, design, paint, and everything else that makes our home happy.

About Me

I am a homemaker. I cook, sew, refinish furniture, decorate, build, bake, knit, design, paint, and everything else that goes into making a home happy and fulfilling. I even clean every once in a while. I love the process of creating, from planning and imagining possibilities to adding the perfect detail to feeling proud of my finished work. I am blessed to have an amazing husband who dreams and plans and works and creates right along side of me. We have two beautiful daughters that add their own creative spin to everything and a toddler who keeps us all laughing, when he’s not screaming.

Why I am a Mormon

In the Bible, Jesus asks the apostle Peter if he will leave him. Peter’s response is “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68) That is why I am a Mormon. Jesus Christ is the only source of light and truth. Nothing else compares. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me peace that I cannot find anywhere else. It gives meaning to my life. The gospel answers all of the questions of life with answers that make sense. Jesus Christ is my foundation. Everything I know and everything I do is based on my faith in Him and His love for me.

How I live my faith

Yesterday, I read a talk from the the apostle Elder Dalin H. Oaks that refocused my perspective and helped me as tried to help my daughter overcome a bad habit. Today, I prayed to know how to balance and prioritize my schedule so I could be more present with my children. I was given the answer in a blog post. I know my Heavenly Father is aware of all that goes on in my life because each day He helps me through it. I’ve learned that He usually doesn’t take away or solve my problems, but He gives me the strength and peace and patience to get through them.
