Hi I'm Debby

I am the mother of four children and 21 grandchildren. I love family history and playing games. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy family history, putting together families. Finding children that died when young and connecting them to their families. It's an extension of putting together jigsaw puzzles. It's beautiful when all done. I also enjoy playing games and doing puzzles with the grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

When my husband and I had our first child, we thought it was necessary to start going to church so we visited several. They were so different than the little country church that I attended with my family when growing up. We met a wonderful family when we moved into our first home. They were such a great example and we wanted to raise our children and have a family life like them. When they asked what church we were going to we told them we were looking for one. They invited us to meet with the missionaries from their church. After several months of meeting with them and becoming great friends with our neighbors, we gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and that Joseph Smith was a prophet in these latter days. The thought of eternal families kept us interested and keeps me involved in family history. I don't want anyone to be left out of an eternal family.

How I live my faith

My husband and I are teaching the 7 year children in Sunday school. It's interesting to see the different personalities and to watch them learn and grow. I just finished organizing a Family Discovery Day that was held to help families become interested in family history and to find or create the stories of their ancestors to better understand themselves.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Debby
The Holy Bible is the word of God as long as it was translated correctly. Many plain and precious truths were eliminated from the words of the prophets in the Bible, but with the Book of Mormon they are again revealed. The Bible is taught in Sunday school, etc. We are grateful to have the Holy Bible and is part of our standard scriptures. Show more Show less
