Hi I'm Alex

I've lived in many places around the world including Romania and Japan. I am training to become a commercial pilot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My dad worked for the U.S. State Department and his job required him and his family to move to several locations outside of the country to work at the U.S. Embassies there. All that traveling got me interested in flying and being able to travel the globe. I also love playing the trombone and working on computers. I graduated high school in Japan and attend college in Utah. For the time being I am serving as a full time missionary in California.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the faith. Both my parents were LDS as well as my grandparents. Through their teachings and testimony I have been able to learn of the goodness of the gospel and the blessings it provides. There was a time in the past where I did not attend church for about a month. During that time while I found some joy in other things, I felt like a part of my happiness was missing. When I returned to church the following Sunday that happiness seemed to return almost instantly. Since then I have known in my heart that Jesus Christ lives and wants all of us to be happy. Through His teachings in the Book of Mormon, the Bible, His prophets, and obedience to His commandments I found that happiness and known others can too.

How I live my faith

While at college for my first year, I was called as the Sunday School President in my Young Single Adult (YSA) ward. My job was to organize the gospel doctrine teachers' schedule so we always had someone teaching every Sunday. I also attended meetings with the Bishopric and the other presidencies to better integrate goals such as inviting a non-member to our church session, focus on being better members of the church, etc. Now I currently am serving the Lord as a full time missionary in southern California where I hope to increase the size of my testimony as well as spread the gospel to others.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Of course not. We believe in helping everyone around us. As it states in Mosiah 2:17, "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." Thus by helping others, LDS or not, we are serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by doing so. Show more Show less
