Hi I'm Thomas

I was born and raised in California, run and play soccer, have a passion for music/piano, and have been a Mormon my whole life.

About Me

I have recently graduated from High School where I enjoyed running cross country, track, playing soccer, and being the piano player for my Jazz Band. I was also involved in leadership groups while in High School. What a great way to meet new people. I love music, and have been playing the piano since I could remember. I love to rearrange hymns, and compose my own music as well. I will be attending BYU Idaho in two years, after I come back from serving my mission in Tokyo, Japan. I have an interest in Animals, so we will see where that may lead. However, music is always in my mind as well. I am excited to see how my mission may help me realize what I should do with the rest of my life. I am the oldest of four children, (two brothers, and a sister), and also have two dogs (a crazy beagle, and mini dachshund).

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up with a strong and active family has immensely impacted the reason why I continue, and will forever continue, to believe in what I believe in. The example that my parents have shown me and the strong influence that they have also shown is why I am the person that I am today. I was baptized by my father when I was eight years old. At first, me joining this church had a lot to do with their feelings about it. As I got older, and progressed in the church, I began to develop a better and more personal connection with my Father in Heaven. That connection will deeply grow especially throughout this journey that I am about to embark on. Not only will my connection grow between me and my Father in Heaven, but my faith and my trust will, as well. I strive to continually put my faith and trust in Him, knowing that everything will be okay, because He has a plan for me. I believe with all of my heart that this is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a prophet today that helps guides us throughout these troubling times, as well as his counselors. The prophet Joseph Smith restored the Gospel again here on this earth and he did see God the Father and His Son. I know that the Temple is the House of The Lord and that many marvelous and sacred works and wonders are held in the temple. The scriptures are the word of God and hold answers for our deepest questions and concerns. This is my testimony, my constantly-developing testimony, that I share in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. Going to church every week is key. That is something that my parents have taught us since we were young. I have met my best friends through my church, and have been taught so much in relation to trying to be more Christlike. Before I graduated, I played the organ for my congregation. I also helped our missionaries, and went out with them to visit people in my area who were interested in our church. When I was in the youth program, I was able to help our president with various duties. We helped out with service projects in our community as well as those within the area in which I lived. After graduating from High School, I was able to attend a young single adult congregation. I loved being there. We had an activity every night, and still managed to continue to learn how to follow Jesus Christ. Because of my decision to serve a mission, I attended a mission prep class held every Sunday afternoon in my area. I was taught so many things that I feel will help me on my mission in Japan. I was able to feel the spirit, and was taught by teachers who have been on missions, and understand what I will be going through. I feel so blessed that I have been able to surround myself with such great examples.
