Hi I'm Sonia

I currently live in Las Vegas. I love steak, sports and nature! I am a Mormon

About Me

Right now I'm a studying Exercise Science at UNLV. Dreamin big I want to be an Osteopathic doctor and teach people a healthier way of living! I love yoga and have done it since I was little, but that doesn't stop me from eating truck loads of food(mostly steak)! Its a good thing I like sports cause if not i'd have a couple extra layers of "warmth" on my body ;). Also, my mom is Colombian so culture is very important to me. The dancing, the food, the people, the laughter! It's just awesome! I have 3 little brothers who were adopted from Colombia that I love VERY much. My family is far from perfect, but I'm so grateful they're alive and in my life despite the difficulties! 3

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the LDS religion, but i didn't really KNOW what I believed until I began to study and pray. It took me a long time to be able to say I KNOW what I'm reading and hearing and feeling is true. The Book of Mormon is real as is the Bible. They both have within them the doctrine/structure needed to provide Jesus Christs true church. Today we have the same structure and organization as Christ did when he was alive. In the Bible and Book of Mormon it testifies of Jesus Christ and the reality of being able to overcome our imperfect mistakes because he served the need for justice and suffered for my weaknesses. God knows we're imperfect and that's why there is a literal plan of happiness! This plan includes everyone in the WHOLE world! How awesome is that! No one is left out in his plan. Whether you lived and died in the Amazons or Japan we ALL have the opportunity to choose Him in this life or after we die. Some people ask me why I don't drink or smoke or do whatever random drug that everyone's doing at the time. My response is that 1. I know its the right thing to do because it is a commandment

How I live my faith

Knowing this church is true is different then actually LIVING it! Took me a while to figure that out. I live my faith by doing service, really studying the scriptures and finding answers, and praying. It's crazy how much happier I was once I started to do this consistently. One of my favorite things is that there's so many opportunities to offer service and to be an example. I try to let the people around me know that they're loved especially by Gob.
