Hi I'm Hannah

I'm a college student, basketball lover, big sister, I love York Peppermint Patties, & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my freshman year at Brigham Young University, and I have been called to serve as a full-time missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Angeles, starting in October 2015. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest & it holds a dear place in my heart, but I also love to travel and experience different cultures. My latest adventure took me to Hawaii for a few months. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and everything about it, and I cannot wait to dedicate 18 months of my life to sharing it with sons & daughters of our loving Father in Heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have taken the time and effort to find out for myself if it is true. That's the important part--you have to gain your own testimony. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it is God's word to us, His children. The Holy Ghost brought peace to my heart as I prayed about this, and everything else in our church is based on this one simple truth. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith was working with God to establish His true church upon the earth today. If the Book of Mormon is true, then we are led by a living prophet today. If the Book of Mormon is true, then temple are Houses of God & the ordinances practiced there are eternal. If the Book of Mormon is true, then I can be with my family forever, and all of this brings eternal joy and comfort to my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through the everyday activities I participate in. I spend time with my family as much as possible, and I also have the opportunity to serve in a church calling. Recently, I was called as the temple coordinator for my local congregation, and I get to schedule opportunities for my fellow peers and I to go to the temple and perform saving ordinances for those who were not able to do it for themselves while they were alive on this earth. I can think of no greater service than giving someone the opportunity to fully accept and participate in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and all that that can mean for their own eternal salvation. I cannot wait to continue to live my faith as a missionary, a representative of Christ, to the wonderful people of Los Angeles.
