Hi I'm Alicia Walker

Hi, I am a kiwi mum of 4 married to an Australian. We are a LDS family :)

About Me

Hi, I am a LDS mother living in New Zealand. I love photography. That is my job. I gained a degree in digital photography back in 2013. I love reading, and watching classical and horror movies. I am a mother of four children, and happily married to a carpenter who was born in Australia. Three of my children have at some point had surgery or needs constant contact with a specialist. My son has Hirschsprung's Disease and my daughter has Epilepsy. My youngest son was born with a bilateral incomplete cleft lip.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon, I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because of the peace it gives me. I know it's quite cliche to hear that, but it's true. Once you understand the fundamentals of it all, the sense of peace surrounds you. I feel that every time I think about the Lord, and the things he has promised me. I look at my children and think without my faith, these kids wouldn't be here. I met my husband at my ward when he was a missionary. He came back after his mission and we met up again. I became a member when I was 8 years old, but truly gained my testimony as a teenager. I know it can be hard to make a lifestyle change, especially when there are others who disagree with your choice, but once you learn about the Gospel, and the blessings it truly brings you, you can see why so many are so happy. You can still live a life you have now, however once you take upon yourself the choice to change some parts of your life, you will find you will be so much happier.

How I live my faith

We try to attempt church every sunday. But as we live 30 minutes away from our ward, some weeks its hard. However, our faith is still very strong. We have family home evenings, and we pray with our children every night. I teach a sunday school class for women aged between 18 and 100. I love it, and it builds up my confidence to speak to a large group.
