Hi I'm Josh

I'm a father of 4 boys, married to my best friend for over 11 years. I'm a jack of all things geeky. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work full time as a Business Analyst. I'm also a full time online student with BYU-Idaho, studying in Marriage and Family Relations. I pursuing a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy because those two things (for me) are the most important aspects of life! We all need help once in a while, right? We have been married for over 11 years and have 4 boys. Our first two sons passed away from congenital heart disease called Tetralogy of Fallot. Our first boy lived 11 days, our second boy lived 9 months. They would be 10 and 9 years old. Our third and fourth boys are our miracle children! They are both adopted and are the light in our lives. We work hard at our marriage and our family because without them, our world would be meaningless. In my spare time I love karate (studied for over 22 years), photography, graphic design, sleeping, playing board games, playing sports, camping, hiking, and eating (mostly bacon).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in Utah, the Mormon capitol of the world (also the Multi-Level-Marketing capitol of the world)! I went to church most weeks as a child and teenager, but really didn't pay attention to what was being taught. While learning to become a missionary in the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Provo, Utah, my testimony of Jesus Christ began to sprout and everything fell into place with my life! Ever since then I've become a more devout son of God and disciple of Jesus Christ. I believe that through Priesthood sealing powers in the Temple of the Lord, families can be together forever! I love everyone and everything and have hope for a better world. Life is tough, but I am tougher! With Christ, we can get through anything life throws at us. I love having a LIVING Prophet of God on the earth, along with 14 other Prophets and Apostles to lead, guide, and direct the children of God (us) how we need to be living our lives and what we can do to help others during their journey here on earth!

How I live my faith

I am currently an assistant Deacon's Quorum adviser and assistant Scoutmaster. In 2001 I served a 2 year full time mission in Asuncion, Paraguay. The people there are amazing and their culture is rich with history and tradition that needs to be spread around the world! I reflect upon those moments in Paraguay on a daily basis and it amazes me that I can communicate with my friends there through Facebook and Email! As stated in my profile, we have had quite the 11 years in our marriage! We love kids more than anything and we will do our best to keep them in our family! My wife and I were married in the Mount Timponogos Temple, in American Fork, Utah. This means we have promises made between us and God that we will do all He asks of us during this life and He will grant us the opportunity to live together as a family for Eternity! This is GREAT news because we really want to see our two boys again! We have experienced the heartaches of grief and pain and credit the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the greatest comfort and assistance through it all, knowing that we can truly return and live with Him and our sons again. Each week we strive to have Family Home Evening (FHE) where we sing, pray, and learn a fun lesson about a topic that will help our family to improve. After, we usually play a board game and eat a yummy treat. We go to church each Sunday to worship our God and learn how we can become like Him. Life is a constant battle to know right from wrong and the best way I've found to know which way I should go is through personal and meaningful prayer and also through serving other people. There are always doors opened for us where we least expect them. Seek Him first then you will find yourself.
