Hi I'm Shannon

I love playing the piano, teaching preschool, hanging out with family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of four kids. I have enjoyed music my whole life. I have performed in 9 musicals since I was 4, play piano, percussion, and a little guitar. I also have a love for kids and plan to major in Child Development to start a preschool of my own. However, there is nothing that makes me happier than when I am spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Mormon church. I have been taught the gospel ever since I was a baby. Now as I have graduated high school and am moving on with my life, I realized that I can't rely on mom and dad as much I did through out school. This includes whether or not I know the gospel is true and if I should continue to make it a priority in my life as I move on to college. However, I have found out and know for myself that the gospel is true. I know that there is a God above who knows, loves, and cares about me as an individual person. I know that God sent his son, Jesus Christ, to earth to pay the price for my sins so I don't have to. I am a Mormon because the gospel brings me comfort knowing that I always have a second chance. It is never to late to become a better person.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is more than going to church every week and praying. It is about shaping everything I do to become more like Jesus. Actions are stronger than words. There are countless small and simple things that everyone can do to become more like Him such as saying hi to someone in the hall, please and thank you, or even a smiled can make someone's day. I live my faith by showing I love my Heavenly Father by finding ways to do the small and simple acts of service.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Absolutely yes. We believe, study and love the Holy Bible. We see it as an important and sacred record that is the base of Christianity. All of the doctrine, testimonies, sermons, and stories that are found in the Bible witness that Jesus Christ is the son of God. The Bible is the word of God and was written by holy men who wrote by the promptings of the Holy Ghost. We also believe in the Book of Mormon and other scriptures that was written by the same process as the Bible. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and supports and witnesses the teachings of the Bible. Show more Show less
