Hi I'm Anissa Grisham

I study health and fitness. I LOVE to laugh, run, and dance. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a military family, so my childhood was spent moving from place to place in the United States. As a result of that I LOVE to travel-anytime, anywhere. I previously studied Health and Fitness Education at Oklahoma State University, but now I am preparing to become a CNA. I am a dancer, and I love being outdoors anytime I am able to. Baking is one of my favourite things to do, especially when I get to make things for others! I was fortunate enough to have been raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and this gospel has completely shaped me into the person I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to be raised in the church, and will be forever grateful for the efforts my parents made to help me learn about the Gospel. However, my senior year in high school I began to have a lot of really difficult trials and I began to question whether or not the church was true and if there was a God, and I realized I truly did not have a testimony. I moved out of my house after that and being on my own turned out to be very difficult at first. I did not make too many good decisions and did not have much interest in attending church for the right reasons. One day I realized I was not happy, and I knew I had to make some changes. I decided to find out for myself if the church was true, and I started reading the Book of Mormon for the first time and was truly amazed at the changes that began to take place in my life after I took those first few steps. Our Heavenly Father always has his hand outstretched-we just need to take it. I started going to church and activities more, and there I met some truly amazing friends who helped me get back on track and were incredible examples for me. The time spent going through the repentance process was a trying time for me, as my head filled with doubts and regret for the mistakes I had made, but I learned so much about the Atonement and Christ's love for me during that time, and it strengthened my testimony so much. After a long time of reading my scriptures, praying, and fasting I was able to learn for myself that this church was true, and I have never found something that makes me as happy as this gospel does. This gospel is a gospel of hope and happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to do the things I know that my Heavenly Father would want me to do. Serving others is very important to me, and I am definitely no where NEAR being perfect at it, but I try to look for ways to serve those in my community and in the church. Currently, I am serving a full time mission in Edmonton, Canada, and I am so blessed to have this amazing opportunity. On a daily basis I get the opportunity to learn to serve and love ALL the people around me. Having charity was something Jesus Christ did perfectly and I am grateful for the example that He set for me.
