Hi I'm Naomi

I'm a Mormon, daughter, missionary and friend.

About Me

Hi my name is Naomi, I am currently studying a Bachelor of Business at University and preparing to serve a full-time mission in Japan. I love to travel and spend time with my friends! Growing up in a family of boys I have had to learn to love sports; my favourites being gymnastics and netball. My family is very important to me and I am lucky to have an very large extended family. In the words of my cousin, "I am a Spozzie" - half Spanish and half Australian, which makes Birthdays extra fun, loud and interesting! I love watching movies, especially Disney, romance and classics. I also enjoy reading books, especially the Scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I was not born with a testimony and a firm knowledge and belief that this was the true church on the earth today. Like everyone, I had to find out for myself if the church was true and whether God was real. I believe the Book of Mormon perfectly explains how everyone can receive a testimony of the church and it's doctrines - "ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith" (Ether 12:6). It was only when I put each principle and commandment to the test that I realised their importance and that they came from God to help and bless us. I know God and his son Jesus Christ live and love me. I know that he hears and answers prayers. I know his son is my Saviour and Redeemer who loves us all unconditionally. I know there is life after death and that every person has the opportunity to gain eternal life if they choose. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church upon the face of the earth and it is only by keeping the doctrines and principles of this church that we can live happy lives with our families in this life and the life hereafter.

How I live my faith

I was lucky enough to be born to goodly parents who are both members of the church. My parents made the church and it's teachings the foundation of our home. Resulting in a house full of love and compassion. We didn't always have an easy life. Like most young families, financial struggles always arise, however obedience to the doctrines of the Gospel helped us survive and learn valuable life lessons that I apply in my life today. I have had my fair share of trials in my life, however staying close to my Saviour, Jesus Christ and his teachings has helped me to overcome any obstacle in my life and become a better person. Most people believe that a church is about worshiping God and not doing bad things. However the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches us to not only worship God and to abstain from drugs and alcohol but to strive to live a healthy lifestyle. To stay out of debt. To feed the hungry, cloth the naked and comfort those in need of comfort. I endevour to apply these teachings in my everyday life. That's how I live my faith. By following the example of Christ and being an example of Christ to those who do not know Him.
