Hi I'm Joseph Chu

I've grown up largely in the Bay Area of California. I love good music and art, and spreading positivity. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a teenager boy who is still going through high school. I like to draw and to listen to, or play music. I also enjoy running and most outdoor activities, especially with friends and/or family. Nature is amazing to me, and National Parks are some of the coolest places to me that I can go to.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to stay a Mormon after being born into a Mormon family because I have grown to see how much goodness comes from living the teachings and principles that have been given by God through the scriptures, or spoken by the prophets. When I was younger, I did not fully understand why I would want to stay a Mormon. But after witnessing the blessings and lessons that the Lord has given to me through all these years, and how patient he is with a person like me, who has so much to fix and learn. I've felt the Holy Spirit's promptings, I've felt God's love and that he listens to my prayers. I have found truth in the scriptures. And the gospel has truly been the glue in my family and has helped me appreciate having a family all the more.

How I live my faith

In my life, I try to live my faith in the gospel as much as possible both in and out of my church. For me, the aspect of being kind to others is a very important part of the gospel that I have learned to cherish and appreciate greatly over time. I try to be a patient and supportive brother, and more helpful son at home, and to be more thoughtful of my actions, what I say, and think. It's not always easy, but I have a testimony that living the principles of the gospel and exercising faith in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father to help me be a better person and to repent of my wrongdoings has profoundly changed me, and helped me develop a big appreciation for the many blessings that have been given to me. from my nice family and friends, to the forgiveness and kindness that the Lord and people give to me.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Joseph Chu
In 2 Nephi 25:23 from the Book of Mormon, it reads that "...we know that it is by grace we are saved after all we can do". To me, this has a very profound meaning, and from my personal experience, it means that in order to receive Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's help, we need to put in our own share of work and efforts towards our goals. By doing all we can do, and having faith that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will watch over our situation, I have seen in many times of great need, that this is indeed true, and that in order to bring forth good things, our best efforts are required.
