Hi I'm Ethan

I'm a Mormon called to serve in the country of Russia.

About Me

I was born and grew up in Utah until I moved to Idaho where I spent most of my teen years. I love basketball and outdoor activities and I love talking to people! When I was 18 I moved back to Utah. I went to school and completed my senior year and graduated and then sent in papers for a mission. A couple weeks later I received a call to Vladivostok Russia where I will be serving for two years.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because it's what I believe to be the right choice. A lot of people think that all Mormons are mormons just because we were raised that way by our parents and we don't really know any better. Well I can tell you right now that that's not entirely true. Most of us our taught our whole lives to love the church but each of us goes through our own trials that test us. Eventually we all need to find our own faith and our own testimony of the church and our beliefs. I have had my own trials and I developed my own testimony of the truthfulness of this church. I love being a Mormon. It's who I am and it's what I believe.

How I live my faith

Along with church every week I also live my faith by participating in my ward with service to others and trips to the family history center. I go to the temple as much as I can and talk in church every once in a while. I also am a home teacher for one family in my ward.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Ethan
First of all Mormons are not required to serve a mission. It is a choice. We believe that we have been commanded to share the gospel with all nations to those who are searching for the truth. It is recommended that all able bodied and worthy young men serve a mission but the final choice comes to the member of the Church if they want to serve a mission. Young men and women become able to serve missions at the age of 18 and 19. Members of the church choose to serve a mission because they can see how the lord has blessed their lives and they want to share it with all those in need of it. I personally have seen so many blessings in my life that have come from loving the church and loving my savior and I have decided to serve a mission so I can share the gospel with those who are searching for it and share the love of my heavenly father with all those I encounter.
