Hi I'm Jonell

I grew up in the Philippines. I taught English as a 2nd Language to Koreans. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the 1st son. I was supposed to be the second, but my older brother passed away 30 hours after being born. I'm very close to my family. I love them so much. I don't usually have arguments with my siblings. Actually, I only had a couple of disagreement with my older Sister since I was 10 years old. I'm currently serving on a mission in Philippine Quezon city North. I love music. I love to sing. I was in a school choir since High School. I even joined some singing competitions. My sister is a way better singer. She was already in the national TV once while joining a national singing competition. We love to sing duets together. My parents are very close to me. I love them so much that they are usually the only reason why I'm holding on in this obscure world just to gain eternal life with them. The thought of being with them for eternity is just the biggest motivation for me. I went to a University for 2 years before going on a mission. While I was there, there were only 5 students in the whole campus who are Mormons. We partake our sacrament in a small group with usually 12 attendees.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a born in covenant. It means my parents had been members when I was born. It was not easy for me to grow up being a Mormon since I went to a private school that has a specific beliefs about God. There were times when I was the only Mormon in the whole school that offers Kindergarten education to Masters Degree. I stayed in this church because I know in my heart this is the only true church. It is the only church that actually makes sense. There were days that I had doubts, but usually, God helps me conquer those doubts that really builds up my testimony in this church.

How I live my faith

I was a leader to boys my age when I was a teenager. We had a lot of activities. My favorite activities are during the summer where we have to practice to present. Since I consider myself a performing artist, I really enjoy those times. Our leaders always ask me to help them out. They gave me responsibilities way beyond my spectrum of responsibilities. But I like how that works for me since when the performances that I put effort in were shown and everyone loves them, it's just very fulfilling. Right now, I'm preaching the Gospel to help families enjoy this life with the activities from the church and many more wonderful things.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Jonell
The missionaries share a simple, wonderful, and sacred message that will help you and your family come unto Christ to have eternal life. Missionaries share that after a very long time, God has chosen a modern prophets to restore the knowledge about the Plans of Salvation, which is centered in the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
