Hi I'm Ryan Jacobson

I grew up in Utah, I am and always will be a Mormon, I love it, and I'm proud of it. currently serving a mission in Richmond, VA

About Me

I'm 20 years old. I have lived in Utah my whole life, but I'm currently serving in the Virginia Richmond Mission. I have grown up loving all the activities you can do here in Utah, which includes Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, Snow boarding, and riding my horses. I also played Baseball and Football growing up and up through High school.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a really strong and active family. Growing up we went to church regularly, I was baptized when I was 8, and received the priesthood when I was 12. As I have gotten older I've had to gain a testimony of my own. I couldn't rely on saying "well my parents make me go to church so I'm Mormon I guess". I had to find out for myself what this gospel is really about. That may come with a lot of trials or it may come with ease, either way I have my own testimony of this gospel and I know this church is the true church. I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be the best disciple of Jesus Christ I can be. I go to church, I pray often, I study from the scriptures everyday. I live the Gospel because of my faith.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Ryan Jacobson
The book of Mormon is another Testament of Christ, What he did here on earth, and Is god's son. The book of Mormon is basically a journal of different prophets. We believe a man named Joseph Smith was visited by an angel by the name of Moroni, who was a prophet who kept record in the book of Mormon. He told joseph that a set of gold plates was buried in a near by hill. Joseph then found the plates and translated it to the English language. Which is known as today as the Book of Mormon. What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Ryan Jacobson
Every Sunday is when we hold church services. Visitors are welcomed. Church starts out with Sacrament service. Here we have the ritual of taking the sacrament, singing hymns, and listening to speakers. After sacrament we have Sunday School for kids over the age of 12 and under the age of 18, and another Sunday school for adults. There is primary for children over the age of 3 and under the age of 12. There is a nursery for children ages 18 months to 3 years. For the third hour the men will go to priesthood meetings, any man under the age of 18 will go to his age assigned class, any man over 18 will go to Elders Quorom. The women will go to relief society, and women under the age of 18 will go to young womens. Show more Show less
