Hi I'm Kimberly

A horse enthusiast who some how manages to speak 3 languages fluently. I am mormon.

About Me

I have been riding horses for 15 years and I can't imagine my life without them. I only ride english and compete in dressage. Dressage is the highest form of horse training in the world. It's such a spectacular sport in so many ways. Long distance running is also a passion of mine that I picked up from my family. I get myself covered in mud and dirt frequently from my outdoor activities yet I am a huge girly girl. And why yes, shopping is one of my favourite past times. I'm also a major history nerd and love learning about the past. I collect old vinyl records from thrift shops and love listening to them on my record player. I absolutely adore antiques and find myself wondering if I was born in the wrong time period. There probably isn't a single animal on this planet I don't adore. That being said I have been a vegetarian for 3 years and still going strong. I have the weird but wonderful talent of being able to paint but not to draw. Yeah, it confuses me too. I am a year away from completing my University degree. I like to keep busy and I feel like I am always on the go. I've had the opportunity to live in 4 different countries and experiencing new cultures and languages is important to me. I'm a proud LDS member.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up LDS was a great challenge for me. I never truly had a testimony towards the church. I grew up mostly in a small branch with no one around my age to relate to. There was never a strong Mormon community that I was emerged in growing up. I was born into the church and joke about how I was spoon feed the gospel. Going to church always felt like it was something I had to do, a chore really, but never had a real meaning in my life. I went for the sake of keeping the peace with my family. My sister wasn't an active member so I felt why should I be? I went through some dark years, and looking back at it now I let Satan get to me. I surrounded myself around people who didn't have good influences on my spirt and soul. Tragic after tragic events came rushing into my life like a hurricane. After years of not attending church I decided one day in all my darkness to pray and ask of God for help. I honestly believe it was the first time I truly prayed and I felt as though the whole world stopped. I knew instantly in my heart God and His Son live. I have wonderfully changed my life around and now live fully in the gospel. As hard as those times were for me, I am happy I went through them as I have learned to know the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints is true. I have gained such a strong and powerful testimony. I came to realize that the grass truly is greener on the other side. I used to think that being inactive was the easy way out. Little did I know that when you walk with the Lord you can do anything. The blessing I have received from coming back to church are phenomenal. My heart is filled with so much faith. I love Jesus because I know I can be saved through his atonement and that is so special. I have lived through both worlds, the good and the bad, and know I am on the right path.

How I live my faith

I try my hardest to be obedient and follow the comments as imperfect as I am. I attend YSA and enjoy the activities we have. I love institute class as it is an opportunity to learn further about the gospel. When I first came back to church I received a calling and it was one of the best things that has happened in my life thus far. It made me feel as though I had a purpose. I enjoy being part of something so true and real. I have always tried to keep a close relationship with members and missionaries because you can learn so much from each other. The more positive influences you have in your life can make a world of a difference.
