Hi I'm Austin Acree

I've grown up in Florida, I love music and movies and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music and technology. I've grown up and lived in Florida most of my life but i was born in New Mexico. I love to go Kayaking and fishing and I spend a lot of time at the beach or free-running.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe with all my heart this is the true church. The church was taught to me at a young age and I've always loved it but i never knew for myself if it was true. so when i turned 18 I quit coming and tried to figure things out for myself. At first I loved it, it was like getting a new video game, I just wanted to sit and play it but eventually you either beat it or get tired of it. I realized after a while that something was missing from my life, it was this light and this happiness I had always felt and I didn't understand what it was. I remember calling my friend (who i grew up in the church with) and talked to him about it and he said something along the lines of what have you been doing different in your life since this has left you, and i replied well i stopped going to church and that was when I realized that the church wasn't just there for no reason it was there to bring joy and happiness and light into our life's. I'm 19 now and I still remember the feeling of coming back to church for the first time after about four or five-ish months and the joy and happiness I felt and I knew that this church was true and that god truly does love us, each and every one of us.

How I live my faith

I love doing service projects and I'm lucky to be in a ward that has one either every week or every other week. I believe service and helping others helps us not just grow as people but as a people. Kindness and helping others is exactly what we need in the world we live in and I'm happy to help add to that. I am currently preparing to serve a mission and I leave on September 2nd 2015, I am ecstatic about being in the service of God and my fellow man for two years.
