Hi I'm Sofia

I'm a sister, daughter, and friend. I was born in Guatemala. I'm a Fashion Designer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from University. I enjoy sports, art, and being with friends. I'm fascinated by global economics and cultures. Growing up my family moved often and I enjoyed making new friends tackling new adventures. In college I volunteered with various organizations and even helped plan a benefit concert for an orphanage. I love creating things and I work hard to achieve my goals. I love food, music, and dancing. My family is my rock and my friends are an extension of my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I know I would not be the same person without this Gospel. I know all the good things that I am today and the things that I have achieved are because my Heavenly Father has never forsaken me. I feel his hand guide my life, and every time I choose to do what is right and follow Him, I am blessed. I couldn't be happy without this church and the restored truths and the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I used to plan and help prepare a special meal for the first Sunday of month for our congregation. I learned and practiced leadership and cooking skills. However, recently I have been called to serve a missionary. I'm excited and nervous because it will be different, but I'm mostly honored and humbled to go and serve the Lord.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women should have confidence in their roles in the church, community, homes. Women's virtue shows in their kindness and nurturing of stranger and friend. In the church we believe that in the home mothers and fathers should help one another as equal partners. And throughout the church, women lead in key roles at all levels. Show more Show less
