Hi I'm Austin

I love to play soccer, and it is one of my true passions. I also enjoy basketball. I love the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As mentioned in my intro, I absolutely love soccer. I love watching it, playing it, and learning about it. I have played since I was around the age of 6 or 7. I love the outdoors and nature as well. Hiking, fishing, camping, or just going outside all make me very happy and at peace. The human body and how it works also fascinates me. It is an amazing gift from our Heavenly Father that does amazing things, and I love to learn about how it works. Soon, I will be in Brazil serving a 2 year mission for our church. I am extremely excited about working with the people of Brazil and helping them to learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It will be difficult to pick up the language and culture, but I'm very ready to accept that challenge. Family time is extremely important to me. Everyone in my family is extremely close, and I love hanging out with my cousins and relatives whenever I have the chance. When I return from my mission I hope to study exercise science, or something similar, in order to prepare to become a Physical Therapist. That's the biggest stuff about myself!

Why I am a Mormon

My wonderful parents are a very big reason as to why I am a member of the church. I was born into the church as a result of having a loving family who already enjoyed what the gospel offers. Although I had such loving support, I had to find out that the gospel was true for myself. As I have grown up, I have gained a true testimony of this church. The way in which following its principles has blessed my life is undeniable. Everything that I have experience in my life, both good and bad, have been made better through living the gospel. The knowledge that I now have regarding my purpose in life, where I came from, and where I am going is invaluable, and it comes as a result of prayerfully studying the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that if we study the principles of this gospel and pray to our Father in Heaven to know if they are true, we will receive an answer. I know this gospel to be true because I have done just that. I have studied the gospel prayerfully and lived its principles. I have done this, I have received my answer to know that this is the true and living church of Jesus Christ here upon the Earth today. My life, and the lives of those I love, have been blessed tremendously through it. I testify that this Church and this gospel, allow us to become the best people that we can be in this life!

How I live my faith

The main way in which I live our faith is through service. Through our youth group I have done many service projects, both small and large, throughout the community and others communities. These acts of service help others in need but also help me to grow and to become closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. It is an amazing feeling when you know that you have helped your brothers and sisters with their needs. I also go out with the missionaries whenever I am able to. This allows me to share the gospel that has allowed me to be so happy throughout my life with others. The gospel has allowed me to become the best me that I can be, and I love seeing others partake of its wonderful blessings as well. At home I study the scriptures along with other church materials that help me to further my knowledge of the gospel and of how our Heavenly Father would have me to live. I try to base all of my actions off of thoughtful prayer and spiritual guidance that comes along with those prayers. My life revolves around gospel principles that allow me to freely enjoy the blessings that God wants to give me.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

We as members of the church, strive to help all those in our path that need it. It is not about only helping those that believe the way that we do, or that we "like". We believe that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, and as a result, we want to help all those who need us with whatever it is that may make their burden lighter. Life isn't easy for any of us, so we all need help at times. As our Savior did when he was upon this earth, we strive to love one another. A great way of expressing that love and the love our savior has for our brothers and sisters, is through acts of service. Show more Show less
