Hi I'm Jarom

I like hiking, camping, and reading. I'm currently attending college at BYU-Idaho and served in the Georgia Macon Mission.

About Me

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I come from a family of five and a dog. My hobbies are camping, hiking, and canoeing. I also like to read, write, and play the piano. I am also an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when I was eight years old, I wanted to know if this church was really true. I prayed and read the scriptures. I remember on Christmas morning when I woke up before everyone else and finished reading the Book of Mormon. I read Moroni's promise that if we really want to know if the Book of Mormon is truly scripture, and that everything in that book actually happened, then we can ask God through prayer if it is true and the Holy Ghost will give us an answer. I knelt down and prayed, asking Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true. I remember feeling a warm feeling of peace that is very hard to describe. It was almost tangible, something that felt familiar and I knew that it was true. Ever since then, I have been able to build my testimony of the Savior and how we can all try to follow His example through His atoning grace. We will all be tested and tried, but at the end of the day, all that matters is that we are children of God and He will guide us in the right direction if we allow Him to teach us through the words of the prophets and personal revelation by praying with true intent.

How I live my faith

I read the scriptures and pray about my questions. I try to strengthen my relationship with Heavenly Father by learning how to follow the example of His Son, Jesus Christ. As a missionary it has been a great experience to talk with people how their faith has been growing. It isn't always easy, but I have come to know that as we align our will with the Lord's, than He will guide us through any trial we may have.
