Hi I'm Landon

I was born and live in Utah, I was captain of my high school swim team, and I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I was the captain of my high school swim and a state swimmer. I also performed in a couple musicals in the theater program. I am an Eagle Scout. I love swimming, biking, playing Ping-Pong, Ultimate Frisbee.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because nothing else in the world can make you happier than being a part of this gospel. I have found nothing to be more fulfilling in life than the joy that comes from righteously living the teachings found in the Book of Mormon and other books of scripture given to us by God. Words cannot describe the joy and goodness that you feel when the Holy Ghost comes over you in a spiritual time.

How I live my faith

I like to live my faith by constantly trying to be Christlike. I work to never say a negative word to anyone and to only compliment and uplift them. I also try to do small acts of kindness constantly. Some things I like to do are smile at others, open doors for people, and other little things like that that make people's day just a little brighter. I also try to read the scriptures every day, especially the Book of Mormon. I always try to make it to service events that my quorum or church leaders ask us to do.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Keeping oneself modest and being around others who are modest helps you to maintain clean thoughts in your head. Thoughts lead to actions and actions always have a consequence, whether good or bad. Clean language also helps keep the mind clear and sensitive to the spirit. When sins of any kind are committed, the person who committed the sin will make it easier for Satan to take hold of them and tempt them to commit worse sins. Parents can teach their kids to be modest in dress, language, and behavior by being the example of it all. Kids look up to their parents more than most think. What their parents do will have a big impact on what they do. You can also read from "For the Strength of Youth" in the sections pertaining to modesty, language, and chastity. Show more Show less
